No 'Dhoom 3' this time: Narendra Modi taunts Rahul, Sonia Gandhi

Barmer, Rajasthan: In a jibe at Rahul Gandhi's 'Dhoom' remark while attacking the BJP at an election rally last month,Narendra Modi today said the Congress vice president remembered the movie "because of a motorcycle ride he had with a history-sheeter."

"He kept then chief minister Ashok Gehlot in the dark and reached Gopalgarh where he rode pillion on a motorcycle, which was a stolen bike, with a history-sheeter," Mr Modi said at a rally in Barmer, Rajasthan, on Saturday.

"In Dhoom 3, father and son do all the things and in the country, mother and son (Sonia and Rahul) play games. The country has seen their two Dhooms but Dhoom-3 sequel (of mother and son) is not going to happen now," Mr Modi said.

Reacting to the Gujarat Chief Minister's remark, Mr Gandhi said in Amethi, "What can I say on such language? This is the kind of language he uses, we don't use such words. "

At a rally in Ghaziabad on March 29, Mr Gandhi had said that the 'India Shining' balloon created by BJP in 2004 has burst twice and this time too it will meet the same fate.

Giving the example of Hindi movie 'Dhoom', Mr Gandhi said, "Now they have come out with a new film - Gujarat Model. This is the third balloon and the elections are approaching. You (people) have the power... your fingers will press the button... and the balloon will burst again," he had said.

Meanwhile, Mr Modi at the rally today in Barmer, also accused the Congress of "working overtime" through CBI and "agents" to send him to jail.

The Barmer constituency has generated a lot of interest as expelled BJP leader Jaswant Singh is contesting from here as an Independent. Sonaram was a former Congress MLA before he joined the BJP. 

Exuding confidence that the BJP would win all the 25 constituencies in Rajasthan, Mr Modi said Congress would not be able to touch double figure in any of the states and would not be able to win even a single seat in some states including Rajasthan.

A Pakistan where people want Narendra Modi as PM

It's true. People of this Pakistan want Narendra Modi to become prime minister of India.

More than 250 residents, including over 100 voters of a village called "Pakistan" in Bihar's Purnea district, are set to vote for the BJP to help Modi to fulfil his dream. "We want Narendra Modi to become PM," said Hira Hembrum, a middle aged villager. Hembrum's view was supported by most of the villagers who are living in abject poverty and without basic amenities.

Pakistan is the name of a village in Singhiya panchayat, Srinagar block, about 30 km from Purnea town, the district headquarters. "People in Pakistan are keen to vote for BJP to see Modi as PM," Haldu Murmu, another villager of Pakistan in Purnea, about 350 km from the state capital," was quoted as saying in local media.

What is interesting is that there is not one Muslim family in the village, which comprises mostly Santhal tribal households. There also is not one mosque in this Pakistan. Murmu said they want to vote Modi to counter neighbouring country Pakistan's bid to disrupt peace. "Only Modi can do it," he said.

Purnea goes to polls April 24. According to a police official, government documents record the name of the village as Pakistan.

So how did the village get its name?

Elders in the village recall that the village was named soon after India's partition in 1947.

"Many Muslims who earlier lived here chose to leave for East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), when the country was partitioned. We decided then that the village could be named in their memory," one elderly villager said. Pakistan village is poor and illiterate. The literacy rate in Purnea district is just 31.51 percent. There is hardly a literate person in Pakistan village, where proper roads, a school or a hospital is hard to come by. However, anti-Pakistan sentiment dominate the village.

Murmu recalled that after 26/11, when 166 people were killed by Pakistani terrorists in Mumbai, the villagers had even considered changing the name of their village. "When Ajmal Kasab was hanged to death two years ago, villagers celebrated by distributing sweets, singing folk songs and dancing," Murmu said.

In 2012, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar informed a visiting Pakistani delegation that there was a village named after their country in the state. The surprised delegates told Nitish Kumar that they had never heard of the village.

The chief minister showed the map of Pakistan village to the Pakistani delegates and explained that when all the Muslims of the village, then in Islampur district of Bengal, had migrated to East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), the villagers left behind decided to name a village in memory of those who left.

Prior to the the States Reorganisation Act of 1956, Purnea too was part of Islampur, which now lies in the state of West Bengal. The Muslims who left the village for East Pakistan had handed over their property to Hindus in neighbouring areas.

BJP releases chargesheet against UPA’s decade of decay

Denouncing UPA Government as a ‘failure’ on all fronts, BJP on Friday released chargesheet over misgovernance of Congress and slammed Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi of being equally guilty of all ills by exercising authority without responsibility. The chargesheet highlighted failures and various scams of the present UPA Government.

The party picked holes in the Government’s economic policies that brought destruction, its policy on defence and national security, foreign policy and ‘neglect’ of North-East, besides ‘undermining’ of institutions including “compromising the dignity and integrity” of the office of Prime Minister.

Nation will not tolerate corrupt Congress anymore: Modi

“This Government is a failure on all fronts. The legacy of UPA for a great country like India is a suffering India, insecure India, distressed India, depressed India and an India whose image stands tainted because of the shameless saga of scams and corruption,” BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad.

This Government will be remembered as the most corrupt Government in Independent India, he claimed after releasing the “chargesheet”.

Targeting the Congress leadership, Prasad said, “The BJP’s first charge is Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are equally guilty of all the ills in India along with Manmohan Singh, because they wanted to exercise authority without accountability.”

Congress is synonymous with corruption

He said that the Congress leadership of a “deliberate, conscious devaluation” of the office of Prime Minister by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi where Manmohan Singh acted more like a CEO of a Board where they had controlling interest.

The BJP ‘chargesheet’ concludes by saying, “The Congress-led UPA Government has indeed been a disaster for this country. It has only left a legacy of suffering, agony, disappointment and hopelessness for the people of India. Its misdeeds in various fields have shaken the very foundation of the country.”

Congress is synonymous with corruption

In the backdrop of a series of big ticket scams hitting the nation hard, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is waxing eloquent on matters of corruption.

While addressing the annual conference of the CBI and state anti-corruption agencies, the PM maintained that his Government is doing “everything possible” to ensure “probity”, “transparency” and “accountability”.

One can’t help thinking of the Prime Minister’s mounting number of platitudes regarding corruption as the devil preaching the  scripture. This came at a time when the Congress party and the UPA Government it leads are both neck-deep in corruption.

The most recent of the cases concerns Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Vadra has allegedly turned an initial amount of just Rs 50 lakh into a whopping Rs 300 crores in three years by means of inappropriate business transactions with realty giant DLF. In exchange, DLF reportedly received favours from Congress-led Governments in Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi.

But instead of ordering an investigation into the murky dealings, the Government is coming to the defence of Vadra. In fact, Finance Minister P Chidambaram clearly ruled out any probe into the issue while at the same time seeming to suggest that the Gandhi dynasty son-in-law was above the law!

Earlier in the month, the Government openly evaded questions on the expenditure incurred on Sonia Gandhi’s foreign trips. This was after after media reports suggested that a whopping Rs 1,880 crore had been spent from the public exchequer. Such is the nature of the Government’s efforts to ensure probity in public life. But that is not the end of this sad story.

A series of scams ranging from sectors like Coal mining to Power to Civil Aviation to 2G Spectrum to the  Commonwealth Games, and most recently a scam called Steelgate — add to an estimated loss of Rs 7,46,000 crore to the national exchequer. Each of the scams show a clearly visible imprint of the ruling Congress Government.

Apart from scams, the Congress-led UPA has other achievements to boast of as well. If one is to go by what Julian Paul Assange, editor of the whistleblower website Wikileaks has to say, India is the main source of black money.

The Congress-led Government never seems to show any interest in bringing back black money stashed away in overseas tax havens. Rather, it chooses to hide behind loopholes in international agreements to protect black money holders.

The story of the Congress and the saga of corruption in India go hand in hand. It was the Congress which spawned the culture of corruption in the country.

The nation can’t forget the Bofors gun payoff scandal which marked the beginning of corruption in India’s high places, thanks to the Congress. Later successive Congress Governments skillfully institutionalised corruption in the country. Now Congress’s corruption march has seems to have reached a whole new crescendo. It wouldn’t be wrong to conclude that rampant corruption is the most striking feature of UPA’s governance.

The Government has never dared to fight the menace of corruption. Rather it has allowed plunderers to loot the nation’s riches and then done everything in its power to shield them.

Nation will not tolerate corrupt Congress anymore: Modi

Lashing out at Congress for being in slumber for 55years, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the nation will not tolerate the corrupt UPA Government which has left nothing and destroyed the nation including Rajasthan.

Addressing a rally in Alwar, Rajasthan, Modi said “India will no longer tolerate Congress’ corrupt ways. People of Rajasthan don’t want a Government which is in slumber for 55 years but needs a Government that works for 60 months. Including all the major scams like Submarine scam, rail scam, Adarsh, coalgate, Akash, Prithvi, Jal, Thal, Patal they have left nothing, so uproot the Congress that has destroyed the nation.”

Talking of Gujarat Model of development Modi further said that Gujarat does not need certificates from Rajasthan Chief Minister. “There is no law and order situation in Rajasthan. Its complete anarchy and darkness. Day & night Rajasthan CM is talking about Gujarat. Is election in Gujarat or Rajasthan? Should we talk on Gujarat or Rajasthan ? As far as Gujarat’s development is concerned, we don’t need validation from the CM of Rajasthan. In December 2012 we presented our work to the people & we got a 3rd term to serve the people.If there is any State who is top in atrocities of tribal communities it is this Congress run Rajasthan Government. Congress’ Rajasthan Government is number one in giving the people polluted people.Till elections approach, Congress does not remember people or the promises they made. Nor do they listen to people. 700 riots under Congress, 300 under Mulayam; Muslims need to decide who cares for them: Modi in Aligarh

BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Sunday hit out at the Congress and Samajwadi Party for neglecting the welfare of Muslims and constantly fanning the flames of communalism in country.

Addressing a massive Bharat Vijay Rally in Aligarh, Modi said more than 700 communal riots took place under Congress while 300 riots occurred under the SP regime Modi said both the parties have always considered Muslims as mere vote banks.

“Nearly 700 riots took place under Congress’s regime out of which nearly 300 took place under SP Government’s stint and they call themselves as secular,” said Modi.

Modi once again came all guns blazing at Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for considering Muslims as mere vote banks.

Even CBI can’t save Congress this time: Modi in Bijnor

“Sonia said we made 15 point programme for minorities. How they mislead people this is an example. Those who practice vote bank politics find it correct to keep society poor,” said Modi.

Modi also attacked the three parties SP, BSP and Congress of being indulge in ‘stage-managed’ fights in Uttar Pradesh but come together to grab power at the Centre.

“The Congress has two soldiers in Uttar Pradesh. These people from Congress, SP and BSP are indulging in fights that you see on TV. These people indulge in stage managed fights in Lucknow but they come together to grab power in Delhi,” he said while addressing a rally in Aligarh.

“These three parties are misleading the people of this country and State and it is the time to bring in a change in this country. You have already suffered but the time is to make sure that your children don’t suffer,” he said.

Asking people to provide a strong majority to the BJP in the forthcoming elections, he said the voters should ensure victory of BJP and NDA candidates and get them at least 300 seats.

“Make sure that the country gets a strong Government and not a weak one. Please ensure that BJP gets more than 300 seats,” Modi said.

He appealed to the voters that they have elected rulers for the last 60 years but “this time you elect a servant for next 60 months and I promise to do things which they have not done in last 60 years.”
