NaMo Govt Clears Defence projects worth Rs.80,000 crore; Six submarines to be ‘made in India’


In a major boost to the Navy, grappling with dwindling submarine strength, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has approved of a proposal to build six conventional diesel-electric submarines indigenously. The project cost has been estimated at Rs. 50,000 crore.

Narendra Modi visit to Siachen; celebrates Diwali with officers and jawans of the Indian Armed Forces


The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today made a surprise visit to Siachen. Addressing officers and jawans of the Indian Armed Forces at Siachen Base Camp at a height of over 12,000 feet, he praised their valour and courage, saying that 125 crore Indians could celebrate Diwali today, and go about their lives in comfort, because the jawans stood guard at the borders, prepared to make every sacrifice for the nation. The nation is proud of all three wings of the armed forces, the Prime Minister added.

Modi magic takes BJP from 4 to 47


CHANDIGARH: History was scripted in Haryana on Sunday after BJP, high on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's charisma, stormed to power for the first time on its own and clinched 47 of the 90 assembly seats. It is a quantum jump for the party as the number of its MLAs swelled more than 12 times. It had only four legislators in 2009.

Namo grants Rs 450 crore for sports development
