Mantra to boost economic growth : ‘Make in India’

Along the lines of Vibrant Gujarat, the Government of India is set to launch ‘Make in India campaign’ to encourage domestic and global companies to invest in India’s manufacturing sector. It will not only boost investor’s confidence but also bring a smile on grumpy economic state of the country.

‘Make In India’ articulated in Narendra Modi’s maiden Independence Day speech is soon going to become a reality. In his address to the nation, he said that he wants to see ‘Made in India’ products across the globe. Lauding the talent that India has, he said that it is time that Indian companies manufacture products and sell them across the globe. In fact, just a few days of coining Make in India adage, he met the students from elite Indian Institute of Technology urging them to manufacture products here.

In his meeting with the chairperson and teachers of the IITs, he said India has a lot of talent and the potential to build things here. All they need is more state-of-the-art laboratories. The Government has in fact, sanctioned a few crores to build more IITs and IIMs and other elite institutes to create India as a brand.

In his Independence Day speech, he said, “”We want to give the world an favourable opportunity that come here, ‘Come, Make in India’ and we will say to the world, from electrical to electronics, ‘Come, Make in India’, from automobiles to agro value addition ‘Come, Make in India’, paper or plastic, ‘Come, Make in India’, satellite or submarine ‘Come, Make in India.”

This is, however, not the first time that Narendra Modi has urged global companies to come and utilise Indian skills. If one goes through his recently-concluded Lok Sabha electioneering speeches then one will definitely remember he used to invoke Make in India generously keeping in mind that the plight of jobless Indian youth despite the fact that young India has all that is required to build a great progressive and developed nation.
